Tena Koutou, Talofa Lava, Malo e Lelei, Namaste, Ni sa bula, Noaia’e mauri, Fakalofa lahi atu, Kia Orana, Ni Hao, An Nyung Ha Sai Yo, Nay Ho, Hej. Greetings to our school families.
It is a time for transitions at the moment. Winter sports are wrapping up their seasons, while summer sports are getting underway. Preparation for musical performances are in full swing, including our own Talent Show. Our Year 6 students have begun the process of enrolling and moving on to College, while our junior school settle in to their new classes, as our numbers continue to grow. Our senior students have been learning about the process of pubertal change, and a little more about what life has in store for them! And throughout all this, we all wait with bated breath for the warm weather of Spring to finally arrive! Busy times, exciting times, and plenty of memories being created. A huge thank you to all the parents, supporters, coaches, managers and helpers of every description who have lent a helping hand this term. We appreciate it.
Nga mihi,

ERO Report
Our ERO Review process has now officially come to an end as we have received our full, final report. We are very pleased with the content of that report, and the statements made including:
- “The school fosters a strong sense of belonging and wellbeing for all. The school values are highly evident in practice. Classrooms are settled, purposeful environments. Children with additional learning needs are well supported and fully involved in the programme. Older children have opportunities to support their younger peers and to be of service in the school and local community. Affirming and nurturing relationships are modelled at all levels of the school.”
- “Learners are achieving well. The school demonstrates strong progress toward achieving equity in educational outcomes, supported by effective, sustainable processes and practices.”
- “There is a focus on knowing children’s interests, strengths and needs, in order to plan more responsive programmes.”
We would like to acknowledge our Board of Trustees for their role in contributing to this successful review, and in particular, Jemma White, Board Chair, and of course all our teachers for their hard work. The full report is available on our website for your interest.

Junior School Poetry Recital
We were so proud of our very brave students in Years 0 – 3, who progressed through to represent their classes at the Poetry Recital this week. They handled a situation many adults find challenging with confidence. We were especially impressed with some of the poems that had been especially written for the event. Well done to:
Year 0: River Van Dyk (1st), Oceana Jones (2nd), April Heaven (3rd), Kyden Moore, Tiare Hoani
Year 1: Autumn Howson (1st), Tadhg Begg and Braxton Morrison (2=), Karl-Emil Baldvinsson, Isla Gordon
Year 2: Cade McGuire (1st), Abby Fox (2nd), Dove Elton (3rd), Ayla Reve, Noah Cavanagh
Year 3: Royston Bale (1st), Sol White (2nd), Maia McGarvey (3rd), Charlotte Parry, Phineas Parish-Blackler
A huge thank you!
On Monday mornings are staff have been being treated to surprise morning teas, that we know many parents have contributed to. We just wanted to say that we feel so special to have received these treats. It is lovely to share something nice to start our week, and even better knowing that people have gone out of their way to arrange that, for us. We are humbled, and wanted to let you know how much your gesture is appreciated.
Hibiscus Coast Cross Country Runners
A further update on the inter school event from a few weeks ago – the Rodney combined Schools team won the Year 5/6 Grade in this event for the first time ever! A super achievement. We were very proud to have such a large percentage of this team come from our school. Well done to Zoe Turner, Dakota Corringham, Charlee Fraider, Ethan Genet, Tommo McGuire and Cayden Steffener
