Tena Koutou, Talofa Lava, Malo e Lelei, Namaste, Ni sa bula, Noaia’e mauri, Fakalofa lahi atu, Kia Orana, Ni Hao, An Nyung Ha Sai Yo, Nay Ho, Hej. Greetings to our school families.
It seems the end of term rushes up on us on a regular basis, and although we are collectively shocked that the holidays are almost here, it’s also a great time to reflect back on a busy few months of learning and building relationships. Happy kids learn, & there have been plenty of fun moments to add interest and depth to our regular class programmes.
Swim programmes and time at the beach (when the weather allowed), were a great way to start the school year, and what a great surprise to find very little litter on our Big Beach Clean and Celebration Day. The Year 3 & 4 students have shared their learning about preserving our fresh water steams and native wild life, and we have all been fascinated by what is in our own backyard.
Community spirit has shone through events such as the Beach Meet & Greet, Travelwise Week (& resulting Walking School Buses), and the Pasifika Evening.
Thank you to everyone for the support that you have shown us this term. Have a safe and fun school holiday break starting next Friday.
Nga mihi,
Kathryn Ramel
Principal

Walkathon Donations – a record year!
We are absolutely delighted to announce that it has been a record year for Walkathon donations! The last funds are still trickling in, but currently we have raised $7250! To say we are appreciative is an understatement! We will be purchasing new readers to support our reading programme, and provide a wider variety of material to support levels and interests. Thank you so much for supporting our school.
We will be recognizing some students for their fundraising efforts at next week’s Full School Assembly.
Uniform – Vest Sale
We have a limited supply of brand new, school uniform vests on sale for $15 each. These are made from the same fleece as the sweatshirts, and are a good option for this changeable weather, or even as another layer in winter. Available through the School Uniform Shop.
Pasifika Evening
Last week we had a lovely evening at Snells Beach with the Pasifika families from our school. This was a chance for families to gather, meet each other, form friendships, and offer support. It is exciting to see such a wide range of Pacific cultures represented at our school now, and Snells Beach is a much richer place because of it. A huge thank you to Mrs Spittal, Miss Thomas, Mrs Young and Mrs Mackay for their organisation, and of course Mr Morley’s MKR worthy effort on the BBQ. Special mention must also go to Mr Young (Mrs Young’s husband) for his super soccer organisation on the night!
