We were blessed with the weather as we headed off to our annual planting days. Our Year 4 students and Mrs Bish worked hard, planting over a thousand plants at the Solways Deer Farm. Shelley, the owner, actually took the time to write a personal message to Mrs Mackay (our Trees for Survival Co-Ordinator), commenting on the outstanding effort by our “fantastic and delightful” students.
Our Year 5 and 6 students continued their planting at Scandretts Regional Park supported by DOC. Scandretts is a special place for our school: we celebrate our end of year picnic there, Don Scandrett was Chairperson of our BOT, Xanthe attended as a student, and we have never missed a planting day! The year by year growth is impressive to see, and our earliest planting is now fully fledged bush!
