On Thursday 25 September, Nikau 1 undertook the biggest challenge of their lives so far; they fed the school breakfast. This entailed them planning the day, devising a menu they could cook, costing, persuading the local supermarkets to give them money (many thanks to New World and Countdown Warkworth), organising competitions and prizes, as well as choreographing a Wake and Shake Jump Jam routine.
They cooked and prepared all the food, everyone got a chance to make something, and then served it to the school.
They were amazing. Some children deserve special mentions, Danielle Keats who spent the whole morning making mini pancakes, enough for everyone, despite the demand being great, and Lucian Teo who made sushi.
They were also responsible for cleaning up and putting everything back to normal which they did beautifully.
