We had our first PTA meeting of the year last week – it was positive and interesting! One of the most topical discussions was the apparent lack of opportunity for new parents to meet others, and for the current parents to catch up.
SO: we’d like to invite all parents/care-givers of Snells Beach School to an informal social gathering with nibbles and drinks supplied, so you can get to know each other. This will take place on Wednesday 12 March from 7.15pm in the Staffroom.
And whilst we have a captive audience, why not come along to our PTA AGM afterwards? (7.45pm start).
No this is not a cheeky pre-AGM ploy; we truly want as many parents/care-givers together so we can have a worthwhile meeting and hear what you have to say about moving forward with the PTA calendar.
Going into 2014, we have a blank canvas and a healthy bank account. After 2 years in leadership, it is time for the current PTA Executive to step down. A good routine has been established and is just waiting for fresh energy to put another spin on it. Perhaps you would like a leadership role in the school and are open to being involved in a particular position (Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Marketing – all roles become vacant at the AGM). We are happy to assist people and provide support and direction to ensure a smooth transition for those wishing to take on these volunteer roles.
Here is an opportunity to make a real difference in the life of the school for your children. Some of you may feel the time has come for you to join the PTA committee, and will feel comfortable to take on a specific role, OR you may wish to join expressly in a supportive capacity. We would love to see a larger attendance at meetings as it provides us with more informed, more varied and more interesting discussions & direction.
